My Favorite People

We’ve been a little under the weather here the past few days so I thought I’d share some images I took of the my kiddos a couple weeks back.

I love my job.  I really do, but when I get home in the evening the last thing I want to do at times is take another picture.  I make myself though.  I make myself pick up the camera one more time to capture all the things I don’t want to forget.

I make myself because they are the cutest kids in the world.  (I am aware that I might be a wee bit biased.)

And for a real look into my life:

Maybe one of my favorite photos of my little man ever:

And my little girl…just how I usually see her…mad that she’s not getting her way.  Right after I told her it was time to go home.  :(

Biased or not, they sure are cute.  Don’t you think?

This is going to be short and sweet cause I have to run…but…remember {M}?  From here?   Well, Dave shot her outdoor session now that we’ve finally had some nice weather.  And I have to tell you–it’s fabulous!

I love the color!  And this dress.

Love those eyes.  Gorgeous.

Akron Area Engagement Photography {Donny & Maris}

When he saw her across the dance floor of the ship he was interested.  Very interested.  In fact, he describes it as love at first sight.  But Donny couldn’t imagine ever approaching her to talk….Luckily, he didn’t have to.  Before he could give it much thought, she approached him, mistaking him for someone else.  It didn’t matter why she approached him though, I think they were both just glad she did.  They spoke some in passing throughout the rest of the cruise and then after returning home, Maris gave him a call.

They decided to meet in Washington D.C. since she is from Ohio and he Florida.  The trip went well and their long distance relationship started from there.  Donny & Maris spent the next year or more meeting every other week and talking on the phone in between.  Then, their relationship came full circle when they returned to D.C. where Donny proposed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Dave and I met up with them in Maris’s parent’s garden.  Donny and Maris flew in just a few days before their wedding, so this session took place just before their rehearsal.

Love this dress:

Can’t you just feel their happiness?

Maris, you are beautiful!  Look at those eyes.

Donny and Maris…we hope you honeymoon was just as amazing as you hoped it would be!  I will be posting some of you wedding images very soon.

When a senior walks in the studio, I can never be sure how comfortable she’ll be with having her photo taken.  When {B} told me that she wants to become an actress, I had a feeling it was going to be a good session.  {B} did not disappoint.  Check out this gorgeousness…

Her eyes are just striking.

Rawr!

Thanks {B}.  You are beautiful!  Good luck with all your aspirations.

Akron Engagement Session {David & Elisha Sneak Peek}

They decided to go to Stay Hywet for the day.  As they walked around, she noticed that they seemed to keep retracing their steps.  She was content to let him lead though.  Eventually they found themselves inside the English Garden.  They sat and talked and suddenly she realized that he was on one knee asking her to marry him.  She was, of course, more than happy to say yes.

Dave and I met David and Elisha back at the place where they pledged their lives together.  We walked all over the gardens and got some amazing engagement shots {if I do say so myself}.  I am thrilled with the way we were able to capture their love for one another surrounded by the beauty of one of the greatest places in all of Akron.

Here they are on the bench where it began:

Love this next one…

We had harsh sunlight that we tried to avoid, but it worked well for this next one.

Check out Elisha’s gorgeous eyes!

And David’s not so bad himself!

David is convinced that he is not photogenic.  I kept trying to tell him otherwise.  Shoulda bet him on it, don’t you think?

This next one is so sweet.  You can see how David loves her with every touch of the arm.

There’s something about white birch trees that I adore.  So dreamlike.

We’ll be kicking off our wedding season in a couple weeks with Dave & Elisha’s wedding.  If this session was any indication…we will have some great images to share soon.

Akron Senior Pictures {M’s Sneak Peek}

I had spoken to {M} a few times before she came into the studio for her session.  It wasn’t until then, though, that I realized I knew her family.  It was fun hearing about how they’ve been.  We had a bit of a crazy day but it all worked out in the end.  {Right, M?}  ;)

We did a few shots in the studio to start…

…and then headed to Canal Park where {M} works.  Here was my perspective:

And here was Gabby’s:

{M} is Orbit, the Aero’s mascot, at almost all games.  I can’ t imagine a job that would be much more fun than that.

After Canal Park we headed out into downtown Akron.  There are probably a million nooks and crannies that make great shots.  The light was fairly intense though so we looked for some shadier spots.

I’m not sure how I’ve lived in Akron my entire life, yet never saw this sign.  Love it.  I figure if I start walking now, I should probably make Hollywood by next December.

There is something about this next one that I really like.  Every now and then when shooting, the wind and light cooperate perfectly to create a shot like this.

Thanks {M}.  It was fun.
