My Favorite People

We’ve been a little under the weather here the past few days so I thought I’d share some images I took of the my kiddos a couple weeks back.
I love my job. I really do, but when I get home in the evening the last thing I want to do at times is take another picture. I make myself though. I make myself pick up the camera one more time to capture all the things I don’t want to forget.
I make myself because they are the cutest kids in the world. (I am aware that I might be a wee bit biased.)

And for a real look into my life:

Maybe one of my favorite photos of my little man ever:

And my little girl…just how I usually see her…mad that she’s not getting her way. Right after I told her it was time to go home. :(

Biased or not, they sure are cute. Don’t you think?
Gabby’s Corner {What to Wear}

Amy here…so much good stuff to come. Please stay tuned for a newborn and wedding sneak peek coming in the next few days. For now, Gabby has put together an excellent what to wear. Check it out below:
Many people often come to us asking for suggestions about what their family should wear for their family photo shoot. We always say that it is a good idea to coordinate the outfits but to steer away from completely matching. When creating the ‘What to Wear’ posts, I usually pick a color or two and then find items and outfits that accent each other well.
The colors in this skirt are playful and lovely. For a relaxed look you can pair it with a sweater and sandals. With this outfit, mom can be comfortable and trendy. :)
This super cute dress is also a good option for a mom. It is versatile and can be dressed up or dressed down. Make it playful by replacing the blue sash with a bright pink belt. Also add a wood bracelet to complete the look. Another way to go is to dress it up with heels and metal bangles. The breezy make of the dress is still fun and is balanced out with the sophisticated accessories.
I realize that you can only dress up a little boy to a certain point. I think I have a good start here with two outfits that he won’t discard right away. The cargo shorts are already a part of his everyday attire so getting him into the plaid shirt should be the only semi challenging part of this experience.

This first outfit for the dad subtlety ties in the purple from the mom’s skirt from above. We’re coordinating, but thank goodness we’re not matching!
If the mom decides to wear the blue sweater with the skirt or if she decides to wear a colorful dress, i would suggest that the dad stick with jeans and a brown shirt to tie in the calmer side of the family. The brown shirt will make hidden accessories stand out and serve as a very important part of making the portrait complete.
A little girl is so much easier to imagine outfits for. All of these outfits go perfectly with the flow that was demonstrated with the rest of the family. With these shirts and shorts it is simple to mix and match them to create the look you want. I have a feeling that the dress and the sparkly shoes might just be the favorite.
All of these amazing styles can be easily found at http://www.oldnavy.com. I hope they help you when planning your next family session!
Cheers :)
Get Ready to Smile {V’s Sneak Peek}

This is going to be quick but I could’t wait to share this adorable little man with you all. All of these photos just make me happy.
Do you remember a sweet little infant from a few months back? Well, he grew up and look at him now. I’m not sure he could be any cuter.

If this next one doesn’t make you smile…you may need a vacation.

This is one of my favorite father-son photographs ever. Look at those smiles. We just hope he doesn’t grow up to be a Celtics fan.

All he needs now is a remote:

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you out there. I can’t say it nearly as well as Jodi from Fresh Art Photography. If you’re a mom you can check it out here.
I also have a quick sneak peek to share of {N}. She dances at Turning Point, one of our neighbors at Heritage. This group amazes me with their grace and skill…and {N} is no exception.

And my favorite…

I feel like a bit of a broken record but I don’t know how time flies so fast. My sweet little niece is somehow three!
I love watching her and Eden grow up together and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for both of them. I just wish the future would come a little more slowly. It will probably feel like tomorrow and they will be in each other’s weddings.

I can almost hear her laughing in this next one.

Look at this little lady!

Happy Birthday little {A}! Love you lots.

Two days ago my little sister went into labor and brought two little guys into the world. These photos are through plastic and with terrible lighting but I still think they are the most beautiful photos of even more beautiful babies. {Of course, I am aware that I might be a little biased.}
I am so proud of my sister and these two already. They have a little more growing to do before they are allowed home but with so much good care and love, I don’t think it will be too long.
First is Luke:

And now Blake:

Daddy’s hand with little Luke:

Luke and Blake, I love you both so much. Grow quickly and come home soon.
Akron Engagement Session {David & Elisha Sneak Peek}

They decided to go to Stay Hywet for the day. As they walked around, she noticed that they seemed to keep retracing their steps. She was content to let him lead though. Eventually they found themselves inside the English Garden. They sat and talked and suddenly she realized that he was on one knee asking her to marry him. She was, of course, more than happy to say yes.
Dave and I met David and Elisha back at the place where they pledged their lives together. We walked all over the gardens and got some amazing engagement shots {if I do say so myself}. I am thrilled with the way we were able to capture their love for one another surrounded by the beauty of one of the greatest places in all of Akron.
Here they are on the bench where it began:

Love this next one…

We had harsh sunlight that we tried to avoid, but it worked well for this next one.

Check out Elisha’s gorgeous eyes!

And David’s not so bad himself!

David is convinced that he is not photogenic. I kept trying to tell him otherwise. Shoulda bet him on it, don’t you think?

This next one is so sweet. You can see how David loves her with every touch of the arm.

There’s something about white birch trees that I adore. So dreamlike.

We’ll be kicking off our wedding season in a couple weeks with Dave & Elisha’s wedding. If this session was any indication…we will have some great images to share soon.

Once Upon a Time…

…there was a little girl and a little boy who turned one. They were betrothed to be married however little {C} wasn’t so sure about the idea.

But after some drinks, he warmed up a bit.

I couldn’t resist. :)
You may recall Little Miss {M} here is Dave’s granddaughter. She and this little guy shared a birthday party last weekend. There have been four babies born in 2009 amongst their friends. Here they are with one big brother {L}. Have you ever put five kids (four being age one and under) in one photograph? You can’t imagine the sweat that was involved here.

Below is a compilation of four different photographs of the cuties. Dave shot most of these while I pulled out my tricks. {Basically making a fool of myself, doing anything I can to make a one year old smile.}

All five breathed a sigh of relief when the mommies jumped in. Aren’t they a beautiful bunch? And this is after the photo workout.

You might remember this little guy from here…look how he’s grown!

Little {I} is no stranger to the blog either. See her here.

Loved this shot of {L} with his mommy.

And now for the families:

Not a bad looking group, huh?
Akron/Cleveland Children’s Photographer {K & L’s Sneak Peek}

Sometimes life is just not fair. Everyday I get up, wash, blow dry, brush, straighten, spray, and smooth. Yet, still, my hair doesn’t look as cute as Miss {K’s}. This little thing was born with GREAT hair. It’s poker straight…thick…perfect. She can run around for an hour stop and shake her head, and it’s right back to a Pantene commercial. {And she’s only four.}

And her brother is not so bad looking himself. :) Little {L} was not a huge fan of a photo session but with a few tricks we ended up with some great shots.

Neither was a big fan of my stools. :(

But, it wasn’t anything a couple packs of Gushers couldn’t solve.

And…it’s a good thing Gushers did the trick since they coordinate perfectly with their green and blue.
