Legacy Village Janie & Jack II {Cleveland Children’s Photographer}
Did you see the first post? If not check it out here.
I have been going through images all day. I think you’ll agree these kids are just adorable but they were all as sweet as can be as well. I am so lucky to have a job where I get to meet kiddos like these.

How precious is this?

A big shout out to this last little girl’s brothers. She came in with her mom, dad, and three brothers. Those three (all five and under!) were so polite and sweet the entire time she was getting her pictures taken. She’s a lucky girl to have these three looking out for her.
Thanks again to all the parents! I am looking forward to meeting with all of you again.

Cleveland Area Engagement Session {Aaron & Rachel}
March 13, 2010 by Amy
Filed under About Dave, Engagement
Never again, she had decided. That very night Rachel swore off dating a guy from the bar ever again. At the Loft in Kent, where she bar-tended, the guys weren’t exactly Prince Charming. But then, he walked in. She noticed him with his friends and thought he seemed so different…so “normal.”
A week later Aaron was back again, and she remembered his favorite drink. He was impressed with her memory and with her and later asked for her number. She hesitated. Didn’t she just swear off this kind of thing? But clearly Rachel has good instincts because she relented and handed it over…right after asking him if there was anything crazy she should know about him, of course.
They are good together. Really good. I love what Aaron says about her: “She’s genuine. She never tries to project herself differently than who she really is inside. I know that she is always being herself around me, and because of this, I knew from the start that I could always be myself around her.”
If that isn’t a recipe for a successful marriage, I don’t know what is.

Their pictures are especially cool because we did some of them in the fall and then Dave headed out with them in the middle of February.

And, here is they are with their son, Bosco. {Ten points if you know where that name came from.}

I love this next one. I told you they are great together.

Here they are outside the home they recently bought together:

Congratulations to Aaron & Rachel! And Bosco of course.
Aaron is Dave’s son and I am looking very forward to photographing their wedding this September in Toledo. If these engagement shots are any indication, it should be a great time!
Here’s a slideshow of more engagement photos. Give it a minute to load…it’s worth it. {If you are viewing this on Facebook or an RSS Feed click here to view and then scroll down.}
Rachel had plans for the images with writing on them…but I decided to have some fun with them in the slide show. Cute, huh?
Gabby’s Corner {What to Wear?}

Filed under What to Wear
Hello all! Contrary to the last “What to Wear?” post, this time I’m focusing on a calmer look. I found these awesome styles at http://www.gap.com/. These neutral colors are simple and easy to coordinate. I hope these ideas help inspire your family.
{All images will link to gap.com for online purchasing. All images are copyrighted by gap.com.}
The combination of the tough jacket and slender jeans creates a modern look that is pretty and practical. (=
This sweater paired with the “cadet khaki” pants is a great simple look. Tie in the green jacket if you want a more layered feel.
These green Capri’s matched with a cute sweater shows a softer side of the army theme for a little girl . Also, these leather sandals complete the comfy and stylish outfit. (=
Outfit number two for a little girl is a little less sweet and has a slight edge to it. The interesting design on the bermuda shorts will stand out with the plain tee and will go perfectly with these slip on converse.
These aviator pants are perfect for a little boy. Choose a shade of gray for the shirt and you’re done! It’s that simple!
Another way to go could be tan pants and navy blue or green shirts to tie in with the rest of the family. =)
I hope you like my ideas!
Peace.
Three Things I Love and One I Hate
Guess which one I hate?
I try not to but in truth I hate the snow. This is what my street looks like for goodness sake:
But as much as I hate snow and coats and gloves and scarves and cold…these two sure look cute in it, don’t ya think?
I love capturing the kids as they are. Lifestyle photography at its best!
Upcoming Sessions to Benefit Haiti {We need your help.}
I remember hearing in college that Haiti is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere. My heart broke as I listened to some of the stories of extreme poverty. When I heard of the earthquake I didn’t want to think about it at first. I am ashamed to say that the older I get the more I want to shut out terrible things. I want to close my ears and pretend that nothing’s happening. But that’s not right. It is happening and people desperately need help. Desperately. When I heard of Photographers for Haiti I felt led to participate. Please join Heritage in helping these people in a time when they can’t help themselves.
On Saturday, February 27 we will be holding mini sessions for Haiti. All session fees will be donated directly to Compassion International. (You will make checks payable to Compassion so that your donation will be tax deductible.)

Gabby’s Corner {What to Wear?}

You may have heard me talk about Gabby. She is the super fun girl that helps us at the studio. Here’s some pictures of our favorite intern. (She’s wearing the blue dress.) Cute, huh?
Gabby has agreed to write up a fun feature a couple times a month–”Gabby’s Corner–What to Wear?” She says she has no fashion sense…but I think you’ll see she’s wrong.
This is the first installment of “What to Wear?” Enjoy. (Oh…and comment and tell her you like the picks.)
This blog’s inspiration is turquoise. This week I’ve put my focus on ideas for a session for a family of four. All of these items can be found at Target.com. Click on the item photo for the link to buy.
A bright shirt combined with dark wash jeans are perfect for a rowdy boy. The white sneakers tie in the design from the shirt giving it that complete look.

This cute look seems perfect for a sweet little girl. For me, this dress symbolizes carefree youth. =)
This sweater offers a more sophisticated look. While it’s professional it is still modern and cool.
The classic black dress pretty much speaks for itself, don’t you think? Dress it up with your choice of a bold scarf or elegant earrings. The colors tie in with the rest of the family creating a fresh and coordinated look. =)
Have you seen The Waterboy?
It’s been another busy day but a fun one. I spent a large part of it going through the images from last weeks wedding. Good times. There is a bit more work to do yet, but you’ll want to check back toward the end of the week.
For now, I have one picture to share of my little girl the other morning. I had to take this shot because it reminded me so much of the coach in The Waterboy when he starts cracking up. Do you remember…talking on the phone, in heels, to “grandma”?
I just can’t help but laugh. Hope it brightened your day too. :)
Akron Children’s Photography {A’s Sneak Peek}
Something happened recently…to my daughter and my niece. All of a sudden I looked at them and they seem to have grown up into children. I’m not sure when it happened because I am certain that just this summer they were both still babies.
It might be because they are both finally getting long hair (well, longer in Eden’s case). Or maybe their clothes are less baby-ish. Or maybe, just maybe, they are actually getting big. Somehow it makes me smile and feel as if my heart is being broken all at the same time. The following are of my sweet niece…bigger than ever. I hope they make you smile too.
I’m not sure if it’s because I know her…but I love this face. Aren’t her eyes just beautiful?
If you read this blog much…you know I’m a sucker for laughter. These two were my favs from the whole session.
I think she could have entertained herself with silly faces for at least an hour.
Thanks Little Lady. I love you so much!
Canton Photography {L Family Sneak Peek}
Last Saturday the studio was bustling with life as Dave photographed this family of 17. I walked into laughter and the delight that only family has. There’s just something about being with the people that know us the best.
I’m going to post these a little differently today. I want to share their portraits as if hung on the wall. Since they were such a big group and we were inside…we stayed with the same backdrop for the entire session. This will ensure that they will look uniform hanging on the wall together and hopefully meet the traditional look the {L} family was looking for. I hope this gives you all some ideas for displaying your portraits.
And now for the shameless plug…don’t forget our custom framing for your portraits. We can help you come up with a wall design that suits you. Any photo session from now until Christmas receives a 35% off framing discount.
