Once Upon a Time…

…there was a little girl and a little boy who turned one.  They were betrothed to be married however little {C} wasn’t so sure about the idea.

But after some drinks, he warmed up a bit.

I couldn’t resist.  :)

You may recall Little Miss {M} here is Dave’s granddaughter.  She and this little guy shared a birthday party last weekend.  There have been four babies born in 2009 amongst their friends.  Here they are with one big brother {L}.  Have you ever put five kids (four being age one and under) in one photograph?  You can’t imagine the sweat that was involved here.

Below is a compilation of four different photographs of the cuties.  Dave shot most of these while I pulled out my tricks.  {Basically making a fool of myself, doing anything I can to make a one year old smile.}

All five breathed a sigh of relief when the mommies jumped in.  Aren’t they a beautiful bunch?  And this is after the photo workout.

Cleveland Area Engagement Session {Aaron & Rachel}

Never again, she had decided.  That very night Rachel swore off dating a guy from the bar ever again.  At the Loft in Kent, where she bar-tended, the guys weren’t exactly Prince Charming.  But then, he walked in.  She noticed him with his friends and thought he seemed so different…so “normal.”

A week later Aaron was back again, and she remembered his favorite drink.  He was impressed with her memory and with her and later asked for her number.  She hesitated.  Didn’t she just swear off this kind of thing?  But clearly Rachel has good instincts because she relented and handed it over…right after asking him if there was anything crazy she should know about him, of course.

They are good together.  Really good.  I love what Aaron says about her: “She’s genuine.  She never tries to project herself differently than who she really is inside. I know that she is always being herself around me, and because of this, I  knew from the start that I could always be myself around her.”

If that isn’t a recipe for a successful marriage, I don’t know what is.

Their pictures are especially cool because we did some of them in the fall and then Dave headed out with them in the middle of February.

And, here is they are with their son, Bosco.  {Ten points if you know where that name came from.}

Aaron is Dave’s son and I am looking very forward to photographing their wedding this September in Toledo.  If these engagement shots are any indication, it should be a great time!

Stomach Bugs & an Engagement Photo

I’ve learned three things in the last week…

1. Lying in bed for days isn’t as fun as it sounds
2. Cherry slushies might be the yummiest drink in the world when nothing else sounds good
3. The stomach flu should die a long and horrible death

Akron/Canton Area Child Photographers {Morgan’s Sneak Peek}

There is something about fall that I like.  Maybe the crisp air at football games.  Maybe the beginning of routines as school starts again.  Or maybe the leaves as they turn and begin to fall.  Often though, fall is overshadowed for me by the impending thought of winter.  Ugh.  Snow, cold, being stuck inside for weeks on end.  Double ugh.  This year though I am determined to embrace fall and enjoy it.  Here’s to autumn and the hope it lasts well into February.  I think little Morgan would concur…

Remember Miss Morgan?  Unbelievably Dave’s granddaughter is already six months old.  And she’s as cute as a button…or should I say pumpkin?  Dave shot most of these.

Baby Morgan is Three Months Old!

When little Morgan first arrived she was soundly sleeping in her carseat.  I asked (maybe begged…but just a little) to hold her and she snuggled right up.  What is it about a baby that makes the sky bluer and the air sweeter?  I held her as long as I could but I did eventually put her down for some portraits.  She couldn’t be any cuter.  Grandpa Dave shot most of these.

If I had a title for this shot, it’d be, “No more pictures!!”  Sadly, this was the first shot. 

Oh my goodness…this next one just cracks me up!  Too funny…

It’s a Girl!!!

Dave is officially a grandpa!  Morgan Paige was born last night at 11:22 pm.  She was born five weeks early but she and Mommy are doing fine.  The hospital is keeping her cozy to make sure everything is OK but she should be able to be held soon. She weighed in at 5 lb 9oz and 17.5 inches.  (Not bad for a preemie, huh?) 

Are you ready to meet her?  She’s beautiful!

I told you!  Isn’t she adorable?  Dave says she takes after Grandpa.  (I’ll let you be the judge.)
