Christmas Presents in June

There are so many things that I love about the new gallery we have opened.  Most of all, though, I love when a new piece is dropped off or sent in.  A box arrives at the studio…nothing pretty…usually just a standard USPS box of some type.  But, inside each one I know there will be a treasure.  It’s like Christmas everyday.  Even though none of the pieces are mine…opening them feels like a gift.

I’ve loved art and creating art for as long as I can remember.  It’s so intriguing to look at something and see so much more than what seems to be.  That’s why a couple weeks back when another new box arrived, I was thrilled to open it and see Barb Lyras’s prints.  She is an acrylic painter from Youngstown, Ohio.  She has sent a number of prints to show and sell at the gallery.  These are photographs that Barb took of her own pieces.  They are best seen in person, but this will give you an idea.
